The ShrinkRapt Theater Company grew out of the stellar
productions sponsored by the NW Alliance for
Psychoanalytic Study. The pioneers were Rikki Ricard,
Sheri Nicholsen, Robert Bergman, Teri Hansen, Kris
Wheeler,
Roy Barsness, and many others.
Elizabeth Clark-Stern's first production with the
Alliance Drama Group was Sophocles' OEDIPUS
AT COLONUS. This was followed by Elizabeth's original
play, OUT OF THE SHADOWS: A STORY OF TONI WOLFF AND
EMMA JUNG. Rikki Ricard played Emma, and Elizabeth
played Toni. This production was performed in Seattle
with co-sponsorship
of the Seattle Jung Society and the Jungian
Psychotherapists Association. Other productions of OUT
OF THE SHADOWS followed ─ in
Capetown, South Africa, at the International Jungian
Congress, and for the New Orleans Jung Society.
Elizabeth reprised her role of Toni Wolff June 15,
2016, for The Reader’s Theater in Ukiah, California.
ShrinkRapt’s next production was Elizabeth's play NANA
SOPHIA'S OASIS featuring Elizabeth, Robert Bergman, Tim
Nelson, Lindsey Rosen, Aeron Hansen, Roy
Barsness and others. This was followed by a play by
Richard Askay and Jensen Farquar: OF PHILOSOPHERS AND
MADMEN featuring Tim Nelson as Medard Boss, Robert
Bergman as Sigmund Freud, and Michael Horn as Martin
Heidegger. Our next production was the FREUD/JUNG
LETTERS, adapted by Lee Roloff, with Lee Roloff as Jung,
and Robert Bergman as Freud.
Recent productions include Elizabeth's original play, ON
THE DOORSTEP OF THE CASTLE, a play with music and dance,
choreographed by Lindsey Rosen, featuring Lindsey Rosen
as Alma de Leon and
the author as Teresa of Avila. This was performed at the
International Jungian Congress in Copenhagen. Next came
Elizabeth's
TIMELESS NIGHT: VIKTOR FRANKL MEETS EDITH STEIN, with
Robert Bergman as Frankl, and Elizabeth as Edith Stein.
Following this we performed Mark St. Germaine's FREUD'S
LAST SESSION with Tim Nelson as C.S. Lewis and Robert
Bergman as
Sigmund Freud.
In January, 2016, Elizabeth and
Lindsey’s play THE MOVEMENT OF THE MOON: CAMILLE CLAUDEL, LIFE
PHASES OF THE FEMININE IN ART, MADNESS, AND LOVE
was produced at
Good Shepherd Chapel Theater
in Seattle.
Our production for 2017 was SONG OF SALOME: LOU
ANDREAS SALOME, THE ARCHETYPE OF THE UNCONSCIOUS, AND
THE DANCE OF THE SEVEN VEILS. For this production, we
moved to a new venue, the Isaac Studio Theatre in the
Taproot Theater complex, 212 N. 85th Street, Seattle.
Through all of the productions beginning with OUT OF
THE SHADOWS we have been blessed with
sound operation by Donna Lee and lighting by John
Stern. Without our technical crew, these productions
would not have been
possible.
